The History of ZDOD

Zion’s Daughters of Distinction was established in December 2007 through the speaking of the Holy Spirit to the founder Teresa Farnell. Teresa Farnell had no knowledge that the many trials, afflictions and tribulations she encountered were leading her into her calling and purpose of life. Zion’s Daughters of Distinction Ministries came to her in a vision from God. This gave her hope, because she was progressing in her secular career (principal of three schools) when God pulled her out for his purpose through a severe trial (Just like Jonah in the belly of the big fish). She had a passion for hurting and depressed women and knew that this was the ordained calling for her life, because through faith she was able to overcome the many obstacles in her life.

Pastor Kenneth Bell Sr. of Immanuel Full Gospel was the first Senior Overseer of ZDOD. Today ZDOD currently has, Teresa Farnell’s husband,Senior overseer Richard Sr.-deacon,and her spiritual parents, Bro. Lerel Fredrick Sr and Sis. Ida Fredrick. Teresa Farnell’s oldest son, Richard Jr., who was serving in the military saw that the Lord had his hand on his mother and financed the starting of ZDOD. Through faith, Teresa is able to help women to develop their full potential as persons (spiritually, mentally, physically, emotionally, and socially) prepared to minister in their homes and abroad. Teresa started out teaching the women every second, Sunday night of each month and counseled women spiritually as needed, which has now branched out into a network of teaching, and counseling all over the world.

The mission statement was given to her through the guidance of the Holy Spirit, “Bringing women out of captivity to the divine will and purpose of God”.

ZDOD is all about breaking barriers and setting woman free and into the divine will and purpose of God. In order to truly understand us take a look at the objectives and goals of ZDOD! Be Blessed Objectives I. For Single Women: A. Single women will be able to bond with diverse denomination of women through seminars/workshops, literature, spiritual teachings and counseling, plays and women conferences, etc. B. Single women will be able to apply the teaching of the word of God to their daily lives. C. Single women will strive and seek to put God first in their lives through the word of god. II. For Single Women with a family: A. Single women with families will be able to bond with a diverse denomination of women to enhance their quality of life through, literature seminars/workshops, spiritual teaching and counseling, plays and women conferences, etc. B. Single women with families will be able to apply the teaching of the word of God to their lives and children. C. Single women with families will strive to seek to put God first and also instruct their children to have the fear of God. III. For Married Women: A. Married women will be able to bond with a diverse denomination of women to enhance their relationship with their spouse through, literature, seminars/workshops, spiritual teaching and counseling, plays and women conferences, etc. B. Married women will be able to live godly before their spouses by building a godly character within them. C. Married women will strive to possess a godly character in order to produce a healthier relationship with their spouse. IV. For Married Women with family: A. Married women with families will be able to bond with a diverse denomination of women in order to enhance and unify God's purpose for the family, through seminars/workshops, spiritual teachin and counseling, literature, plays and women conferences, etc. B. Married women will be able to live a godly life before their spouses and families by building a godly Character within themselves, also the women will train their children to have the fear of God. C. Married women with families will strive for a godly character in order to produce a healthier relationship with their spouse and children ZDOD GOALS Present the Love of God to Women Challenge women to become committed and growing Christians Minister to special needs & interest of today's women Assist women to develop their full potential as persons (spiritually, mentally, physically, emotionally, and socially). *Involve women in useful and worthwhile services throughout the outreach ministry with the leadership of the Holy Spirit.
